Kappa-Chicken Biriyani (Tapiocca-Chicken Biriyani)


Kappa(Tapioka) is a favorite dish of Kerala . We can prepare kappa in different styles. Here is the recipe for kappa-chicken biriyani.


Ingredients
  1. Kappa (Tapioka)-1 Kg
  2. Chicken-1/2 Kg
  3. Mustard seeds
  4. Curry leaves
  5. Green Chilly-2
  6. Onion-2
  7. Tomato-1
  8. Chilly powder-1 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  10. Coriander Powder-2 tsp
  11. Garam Masala-1/2 tsp
  12. Pepper- 1/4 tsp
  13. Salt
  14. Oil
Method of preperation

Step 1
Take water in a vessel and put pieces of cleaned kappa. Add 1 teaspoon of salt in it and cook it.

Step 2
Now lets prepare the masala for Kappa biriyani. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds in it. When it pops up. Put curry leaves and green chilly and fry it. Then add chopped onion in it. Stir it till it becomes golden in color. Add crushed ginger garlic paste in it .Then add 1/2 teaspoon salt , chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder. Add chopped tomato in it and stir it well. Add small pieces of chicken in this and mix it well. Springle garam masala and pepper powder in it. Add some water around 1/2 cup and boil it till chicken cooks. Switch off the flame. Add cooked and smashed kappa in it and mix it well.
