Chicken Bharta

Chicken Bharta is a north indian dish which can be made both as spicy and sweet based on once taste. Here i am giving a recipe tried and tested by me at home. It forms a good curry along with chappathi, paratha or rice, especially when you have guest at home.

Ingredients

step 1

1. Onion(Big) -1 or 2
2. Tomato -1
3. Chilly powder -1 teaspoon
4. Turmeric powder -1/2 teaspoon
5. Coriander Powder -2 teaspoon

step2

1. Boneless chicken -1 kg
2. Onion -3
3. Green chilly -3
4. chilly powder -1/2 teaspoon
5. Garam masala -1/2 teaspoon
6. cumin powder -1/4 teaspoon
7. tomato sauce -2 or 3tablespoon
8. cashews - 50 gm (grind this after soaking in water for few minutes)
9. Coriander leaves

Method of preparation

Heat oil in a pan and fry ginger garlic paste , onion . Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder fry it . Add tomato in it. switch off the gas. After getting cold you have to grind it with little bit water. This is our gravy. Step 1 over.

Heat oil in a pan put small square pieces of chicken, chopped onions, green chillies. Fry this untill chicken become cooked. In between you can add 1/2 teaspoon of salt for chicken to absorb the salt taste. Once u feel chicken get cooked (This may take around 10 minutes) add chilly powder, garam masala, cumin powder(jeera powder). Add tomato sauce in this. Add 1/4 cup of water keep it for 3 minutes. Add the gravy (which you have grinded and kept) boil it for a while. Add some more salt. Add Grinded cashew in this . Add coriander leaves. switch off the gas. Add some more coriander leaves and garnish your chicken Bharta.

NB:

1. For vegetarians same recipe can be used with soya chunks.
2. According to your taste you can reduce or increase the amount of chilly powder and salt.
3. The amount of cashew you are taking can be reduced if you want the curry really spicy.
4. Instead of cashew you can use Corn flour also. But Cashew will be more tasty

Remember....The very important ingredient which make your curry tasty is 'Your affection'. So prepare your food with a smiling heart. :)
All the best
