Mulakitta meen curry / Spicy Fish curry




Fish curry! one of the favorite dish of kerala. I have made this at home and here is the recipe for spicy fish curry.

Ingredients

  1. Any Fish
  2. Methi seeds(Fenugreek--Uluva)
  3. Curry leaves
  4. Shallots/ small onion
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Chilly powder-1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder-1 tsp
  8. Tomato- 1 medium
  9. Tamarind-one marble size.
  10. oil
Method of preparation

Step 1:
Clean fish properly. Cut into pieces. 

Step 2:
 Add Salt, Chilly powder, Turmeric powder and marinate. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.
Soak tamarind in 1/4 cup of water.

Step 3:
Add Shallots/small onion, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds, ginger, tomato everything into marinated fish. Mix well. Add tamarind water.  Mix well . Switch on the gas and keep the dish . Close the vessel with a lid. Wait until fish gets cooked. this may take 10-15 minutes. When gravy is semi dry switch off the gas. Add oil mix well.

Note: This can be use as a side dish with rice, kappa or kanchi. 


Remember....The very important ingredient which make your curry tasty is 'Your affection'. So prepare your food with a smiling heart. :)
