Gobi manchurian

'Gobi ' in Hindi means cauliflower and 'manchurian' refers to northeast culture of China. It is an Indianised version of Chinese fried cauliflower dish. Normally we have a prenotion that this dish can only be had in hotels and not prepared easily at home. Here is a simple way to prepare delicious Gobimanchurian at home:

Ingredients

  1. A medium cauliflower
  2. Corn flour-1 cup
  3. Egg-1
  4. Red chilly powder- 1 tsp
  5. Onion - 2
  6. Capsicum-1
  7. Green chillies-4
  8. Ginger- 1 small piece
  9. Garlic- 4 cloves
  10. Soya sauce- 1 tbsp
  11. Chilly sauce- 1 tbsp
  12. Tomato sauce- 1 tbsp
  13. oil
  14. salt
Method of preparation

        Step 1:
First you have to prepare batter for your Gobi fry. For this take 1 cup of corn flour. Add chilly powder, salt and 1 egg to that. Make a batter by adding bit water.
      Step 2:
Dip cleaned pieces of cauliflowers in the batter and keep it aside for a while (5 minutes). Heat oil in a pan. Oil should be enough for deep fry of flowers. When it turns golden brown color drain it on tissue paper.
      Step 3:
In this step we are going to prepare the masala. Heat oil in a pan (You can use the remaining oil of fry). Add chopped onion and fry it. Add chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies and capsicum and stir it well. Add soya sauce, chilly sauce and tomato sauce in that. Add fried Cauliflower in the masala. Mix corn flour in   water and pour it into the dish if you want it in gravy. Otherwise you can serve it dry . This dish makes a great combination with fried rice and chappathi.

Remember....The very important ingredient which make your dish tasty is 'Your affection'. So prepare your food with a smiling heart. :)
All the best
